Ask Me About Scentsy!

Well I have some exciting news, I'm an official independent Scentsy consultant! In case any of you have never heard of it, let me tell you a little about it. They are completely wick less! Which makes them safe and ideal for many people and to have in your workplace. The Scentsy warmers use a 25-watt light bulb to melt scented wax. The wax melts at 125 degrees Fahrenheit. It cannot burn children or pets. You can stick your own fingers in it and touch it. It is a little hot but it's more like one of those paraffin wax treatments.

There are over 80 scents to choose from, and they all smell fantastic! Right now there are 59 different warmers, 12 plug-in warmers, and there are also room sprays and car candles in all of the different scents! If you'd like to see what Scentsy is all about, then feel free to visit my website at www.scentsy.com/dawnn...I know most of you may not live near me, but if any of you were ever interested in ordering, you can order straight from my website and it will be shipped directly to you! If any of you are in my area, I would be happy to get together with you so that you can sample some of the scents! You can also throw your own Scentsy party! Just contact me if you'd like anymore information on that or anything else.

Happy Birthday Sesame Street

I can't believe it's been going for 40 years. Here was a show that I watched every day it was on. I had a routine. Sesame Street, Mister Rodgers and The Electric Company. Of course back in that day we got what? 5 channels?

I loved the show and that was where I learned to count in spanish. Glad to see the characters are still around and are still an option for kids these days. I'm curious if Mackenzie will fall in love with it.

Halloween 09

We were so hoping it wasn't going to rain this year. Once again, we got a break and it was great trick or treating weather.

When I finally got my costume totes down that day from storage I was surprised when I saw my ladybug costume in there. I had forgotten all about that one. Steve was happy to find his Jester costume in there too. It was super fun to dress up when you already have everything.

We love to walk around our neighborhood and see all the decked out homes. Some people really get into it and go all out. This year we actually walked around more and handed out candy less.

Once we got walking around we ran into this guy. So we each had to get a picture.

When we came out of the scary tunnel we saw his wife so of course, another picture.

Once we got back home to our house around 7 we must have only answered the door about 20 times. Then we shut things down at 8 and went to a party that a co-worker was putting on and kids were invited to. Mackenzie had a blast playing with the other kids and all the toys! While we were there we were told about a home a few blocks away that they had made their garage into a haunted house so some of us adults went and checked that out. It was cool and they did a great job. Even waiting in line they had spooky things to look at.

Still a work in progress....

Remember the post about the window picture frame? Well it's been painted but we finally got it up on the wall yesterday. The sconces are from Partylite.
Frame is still not finished but I figured it would be ok to hang it for now. I need to order the pictures that I'm going to put in it. I have yet to decide if I will do all 6 window panes in pictures or put something else in them. I have seen it both ways.

STAR WARS IN CONCERT

Isn't he just the sweetest thing ever? And he had a little baby too.

When I first learned of this show from a co-worker that it was coming to town I just knew my husband had to go. He is really into Star Wars. I actually do like the movies, I'm not turned off by anything Star Wars and I grew up with it. I am always amazed when I hear of someone my age that has never seen any of the movies. I do prefer the older ones to the newer ones but they all have a story and you actually should see them all to understand the full story.

I went ahead and bought us a couple tickets and surprised my husband with it. Well, he was less then enthusiastic about it when he looked it up online. Which let some wind out of my sails. Orchestra concert...not his idea of cool. But sometimes it may be better to not have any expections and be pleasantly surprised. Which he was. We soon learned that there would be characters there before hand to see and also props on display. He is really into the props and making stuff like that for sale. He owns a black Stormtrooper outfit (you can see him here) and he would have loved to have wore it last night to the show beforehand and be part of this local group that was there. He eventually is going to sign up and be part of "The 501st Legion". Some day we'd like to make it a family thing and all dress up. The group goes around to charity events in the area and puts smiles on hundreds of kids faces. How cool is that!

Here are some pictures of our evening...

Here is where our seats were at.

I think I'd like to go as a SnowTrooper. Looks totally comfy.

Here is part of the show...

Is it just me?

Or do you all have probems with this? This guy is a regular at this offramp. He has a dog, of course. One day we drove up this offramp and there were several people standing here. But usually it's just this guy. I always wonder what breaks a person to go this route? Or do they have more money in their savings account then I do? As I was sitting here pondering all this about this stranger in front of me the light turned green. The SUV in front of me had their hand out with some green showing. He sure spotted that very quickly and seemed very appreciative to the lady driver.

When I came back by this area I saw 2 children standing by talking to him and petting his dog. Girl and a boy, they were like maybe 9 and 7? The boy was younger. Then I saw the boy reach out and give the guy a hug as he was sitting there. All that made me wonder more about this stranger on the street corner. Were the kids walking by? Did they jump out of their families car while their light was red? It was all very odd. Did they know each other? Was that their Uncle Hal? All questions that I may never have the answer to.

TRADER JOE'S

I forget how much I love this store. I always forget about going here but when I do I always find such unique items. Also neat entertaining meal ideas. Today I found my favorite Honeycrisp apples. At our local grocery store they are $2.99lb and to buy three of them is almost $4! Here I found a bag of them for $3.69. Can't beat that price! And what I also love is you don't see the standard name brand items. I really need to go more often.

Diesel got his 1st haircut!

I finally got Diesel in for his first Schnauzer cut. And no I didn't keep a lock of his hair! I think she did a great job but I really didn't recognize him, he looks so different. I attached a before picture but that was taken a month ago so you can only imagine how much scruffier he was getting. I still like him all messy but the new clean cut looks good too. The lady said besides being afraid of the loud noises he did very well.

Here they are with their sons Tony and Tim. Also Rachel, Amanda and their granddaughter Paisley.

Reality Star Sighting

So here near where I live we have the Roloff family who are on the TLC show Little People Big World. The other day I was driving by a place and saw a 2 man film crew filming someone and it was the father, Matt Roloff. Of course I drove slow just to see if I could get my car in the shot. ha!
I saw their 2 older kids in a muscle type car with their Mom and they were headed out of the parking lot. The camera crew got in their van and followed and then the dad got in his car and whipped around and followed behind. If I had been pointing in the direction they left or not on my way somewhere I may have followed them. But I know where they live which is a bit of a distance from where I was and my luck they were probably driving home.

Diesels First Boat Ride

I'm not sure what was going on here but Diesel looks like he has no desire about coming in the boat. I don't blame him.
