Curious...

So I am curious about the above view. I took this photo coming down the Mtn. I have always wondered about this ramp and how many times it has helped a trucker out. I couldn't imagine needing such a thing, knowing the ramp is coming and then seeing another sign that says that it's still a half mile away. I have seen tire tracks on it before and was never quite sure if it was just a curious passerby or if it was from someone who really needed it. And what happens when you're going down all the other steep hills and your brakes go out and there is no runaway truck ramp?
