L-E-G-O-S

I love Legos.
I love that people can build such cool things with them.
I love that I have a best friend that lives 5 minutes away from LEGOLAND.
I love that we are possibly going there for a visit in 2010.

Model builder Gary McIntire puts the finishing touches on a Lego presidential inauguration scene on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009 at Legoland California in Carlsbad, Calif. The scene was built to celebrate President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony on Tuesday.

OBAMA IS IN THE BUILDING

Whether you voted for him or not... will you support? It's going to be an interesting 4 years! He wasn't my pick but I will support. I really hope this just isn't a soapbox for the color skin someone has. Be a leader, set an example, color should not matter.
Whatever your political stance, republican or democrat, he is here for the next 4 years. He has a tough road ahead of him and I pray he does amazing things for our country.

This is super fun! You can even feed them! I almost have a hard time leaving them because they always seem hungry.

Husbands can do the nicest things...

So this morning I woke up at 6 for work and noticed my husband was already out of bed. Working in the garage. He said he woke at 4:30. On his weekends his schedule gets out of whack and he'll sleep at the oddest times and therefore wake at the oddest times.

So at 6:30 he comes in the house and says good morning and says he'll be right back, that he's going to go "pick something up". So at that time of morning I'm possibly thinking Starbucks??? He was gone longer then the trip to Starbucks so I went to look out front and saw my car was gone.

He got back about 45 minutes later and he had gone to the store and got stuff for breakfast, a salad for my lunch and a pizza for dinner. And he stopped at Starbucks AND he put gas in my car! And he is getting ready to change the oil in my car in the next day or so.

So it's been a very nice Monday for me. Came to work with an already packed lunch, food in my belly, a buzz in my system and a warm glow in my heart. :)

I Heart Snowglobes

I have always had a fascination with snowglobes. Even the cheapy ones that are plastic and you find in a trinkety shop. I always have to shake them, even though the outcome is always the same....tiny falling white flakes.

I have some small desk style ones and during the holidays I brought a couple into work and I noticed that while people would stand at my desk they found they had to play with them. It was quite amusing.
I have a couple larger ones that I got years ago from Nordstrom. They generally seem to be Christmas style so I only see them once a year. This year I didn't get them out because I feared Mackenzie would try to pick them up and drop them.

This season Hallmark had little snowglobes as an ornament and in November I found one that had Mackenzie's name on it. Since it was November and there was no tree yet I put it in her room up high until later. Well apparently at night time if Daddy put her to sleep she would want to look at it and he would get it down for her and she'd shake it and then hand it back to be put back on the shelf.

Here is one that Mackenzie got for me this year for Christmas. You wind it up and it plays a christmas tune. It's not a grand style one but it's special to me because it came from her. Plus it has snow people in it, which I love. My husband said she picked it out herself. Maybe my love for them are in her genes as well. :)

Top Ten Resolutions NOT to Make This Year

1. Quit your job and wait for a dream career opportunity to present itself. Recession shmecession.
Reality check: Suck it up and hang on to your gig for now. Appease yourself by taking a class or picking up a hobby that will make your résumé stand out, like learning a foreign language or starting a blog.

2. Lose five pounds.
Reality check: Hot chicks like Jessica Biel, Beyoncé, and ScarJo are proof that toned and curvy is the new skinny.

3. Finally win back your ex-boyfriend.
Reality check: Move on. We give you permission to engage in some rebound relationship therapy.

4. Buy into all the latest trends.
Reality check: It’s okay to be a slave to fashion...just be a slave to cheap fashion, rather than dropping serious bank on each and every look. Kick yourself later for wearing it, but don’t kick yourself for blowing your paycheck on it.

5. Change your man.
Reality check: While some relationship tweaking is to be expected (hey, few guys are natural-born good kissers), if the words “fixer-upper” and “project” could describe your boyfriend, it’s time to get real.

6. Triple the number of friends you have on Facebook.
Reality check: Less time stalking your friends’ friends’ friends. More time catching up with buddies you actually care about.

7. Don’t eat any junk food.
Reality check: Cutting out all unhealthy food from your diet will most likely lead to binge eating, followed by intense guilt, by mid-January.

8. Watch less trashy TV.
Reality check: Zoning out and de-stressing for a bit every night with the help of good bad television is harmless.

9. Save more money.
Reality check: Let’s be honest. In this economy, we’re just happy to be able to pay our rent, gas, and credit card bill.

10. Keep your number down.
Reality check: Nothin’ wrong with notches on your bedpost, as long as you’re being safe.

Sex and the City Movie

So I saw this movie in the theatre with girlfriends. I never watched the series, though I meant to. Was even going to check the DVDs out from the movie store but never got around to it. But from what I had heard, you really didn't need to have watched the series to see the movie. And they were right.

Well I wanted to see it again so I went and borrowed it from the library and this weekend I watched it twice.

I like how they seem like typical women with problems of their own and they are really there for each other. Storyline is interesting and of course now it's made me want to go watch the series and take a look back at their 20 years.

The movie is rated R and for good reason; it's very raunchy at times. But I found the movie interesting, funny and entertaining. Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda took me into their world. And I loved the Mexico trip.

I don't think it got very good reviews but obviously I enjoyed it. If you ever find yourself at home and feel like curling up with a story you might want to watch this one. But makes sure the kiddos are in bed.
