FAVORITE FRIDAYS

This doesn't look like much but another one of my favoites. A simple holder for my jewelry when we travel. I used to put my stuff in a baggie and never liked that. I found this several years ago and love it. They had other styles but I'm a little partial to ladybugs. This holder works great. And it's so nice to get somewhere and not have my jewelry all in tangles.

I can't believe that our trip south is less then 6 days away. We've been planning this trip for 18 months, plans booked in January and it's finally upon us. I can't wait to see the park. We were there 5 years ago for our anniversary and there were quite a few of the popular main attactions closed. And we only had 1 day to spend there and we didn't go to California Adventures. So there is a lot to look forward to on this trip. Not to mention my parents are going with us and I can't wait to get some pictures of granddaughter and grandparents riding the kiddie rides together. Priceless moments.

I also can't wait to see the joy on Mackenzie's face when she sees all the magic the kingdom has to offer her. I know she won't remember it but I certainly will. All the reason to go again in another 5 years.

My hubby's kids are flying over from AZ to join us. They are 14 and 11 and have never been. I'm sure they will cover A LOT of ground and it will be fun enjoying the older rides with them.

My goodness! Take a look at that! That is a dandelion weed. I'm not so sure I've ever seen one that long before.

Tonight while dinner was baking I went out to pull up some dandelions in the front yard that I saw when I pulled in the driveway tonight. This was one of the many I found but the only one that had a root like that. Now I know why they are so hard to get rid of.

This is Mackenzie's birthday candle. We've now burned it twice and we have 19 more years to go!

This candle made my list because my brother had one when we were growing up. But, I did not. Another one of "those" things. Mom, I'm just teasing. But seriously I didn't have one and I was always very envious of my brother's. For one thing he was older so there was the obvious idolizing factor. Then in my young eyes he has this SUPER COOL Birthday candle that was just for him and him only. Ohhhh, was I jealous!

I remember always thinking that someday my kids would have one of those candles. And that is just what happened. My nephew Tim and his wife Amanda knew I was looking for one and bought one for Mackenzie and I just love it! Now I just wonder if she'll appreciate the tradition as much as I do. Probably not but sometimes it can be a little about Mom.

Anyone else have any birthday traditions?

Wii. I love my Wii. And my Wii board. My hubby bought me the silicone cover for me for Valentine's Day and I love the way it feels on my feet.

We are a gaming family. We have about 4 systems, dating back to the original Nintendo. Some of those old games are hard to give up. I love being able to play Tetris, Bubble Bobble or Donkey Kong Country if I feel like it. Because of the lack of space we have in our home, the older systems are not out for play. But we can readily access them anytime we want to.

I think Wii has really taken gaming to a whole new dimension. Where else can you get so active with the jumping, leaping, boxing, running, leaning and swinging that you can do with the Wii?

Adorable Burp Rags Giveaway

I just love giveaways. Go over here to Crystals blog and read up about little cutie pie Bentley. And check out these adorable burp rags that she makes. I love how soft they look. I wish I needed them for myself. But I have 3 friends having babies in about a month, 2 with boys and 1 with a girl, and these would be a nice unique gift to give. I sure envy these crafty sewers!

I ♥ Spring!

Signs of spring I saw yesterday. A frenzy of shoppers in a local garden center. In the past when I drive by there is never any activity. I was smiling when I saw how busy they were because this weekend is gorgeous!
And I love blossoming trees.

This is a wonderful sight! Our garbage service has been so old schooled and they are now going to automated! Finally larger bins and I love that I won't have to separate my recycles anymore.
They were delivering the bins out on Saturday and I just happened to drive by that way and see them.

I am very excited! A few days ago I ordered this reversible camera strap from ETSY. And have I mentioned how I love ETSY? I've heard it's addicting and they weren't kidding! Also nice to support a home business.

I love getting fun accessories for things. When we got our camera it came with a Canon strap but it was borrrrring. I love something that looks fun and dresses it up a bit. I found this lady on Etsy and she makes different styles and also makes them for smaller wrist cameras. I also bought a fabric key fob. I've been wanting one of these. With a 2 year old I really need to have my hands free and also it may be easier to find in the bottom of my purse.

They should be here in a couple weeks.

Ok,I'm now starting to get excited. Tomorrow night I'm going with a friend from work downtown to see WICKED! We are also meeting up with some other co workers and their wives. Meeting for dinner first, then the show. I have had this ticket since they went on sale Dec. 6th and the show felt so far off but here we are! I have heard such good things about it and I can't wait to see the story behind the story of The Wizard of Oz.

This next item is something that I just love. My jewelry armoire! I got it a few years ago on black Friday. So I got it at a steal but even better then that, it really is one of my favorite things that I've bought for myself. For one thing, it looks nice in our bedroom. And it has plenty of room for all my items. I can even keep some small keepsakes in some of the drawers. Unfortunately Mackenzie has recently discovered one of the drawers that holds my bracelets. She loves that drawer! I'm sure she loves playing with all Mommy's trinkets and baubles!
